A lyric, vibrant and energetic sonata in three movements, steeped in the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic styles of blues, jazz, and popular music.  Composed for the Semplice Duo (flutist Cristina Ballatori and pianist Kevin Chance) and premiered by them in August 2022 at the 50th annual National Flute Association Convention in Chicago, Illinois. The work was composed in memory of Marisa Ballatori, Cristina's mother; the composition is a celebration of life, light, and joy.
